Paolo Pacchierotti (Purchasing Manager of COMET S.p.A.) what does your company do?
Our company works in three key sectors: Agriculture, Industry and Cleaning.
The product range in the Agriculture Division we supply to manufacturers of spraying and weeding machinery includes diaphragm pumps (low, medium and high pressure), centrifugal pumps and piston pumps. The Industry Division consists of high pressure axial and triplex piston pumps used in car washes, road washing machines and the Urban Cleaning sector generally.
To conclude, the Cleaning Division includes a wide range of hot and cold high pressure washers, vacuum cleaners, dry steam generators, floor scrubber dryers and sweepers. Our range meets the demands of all types of customer, from domestic to professional users.
What are your latest product innovations?
In the last two years we have extended the Cleaning range, introducing vacuum cleaners, drysteam generators and above all the “Floor Care” range of push and ride-on floor scrubber-dryers and sweepers.
Today these new products allow us to work on the market with a complete range of semi-professional and professional machines for the whole Cleaning sector.
When and why did the cooperation between ISB and Comet start?
The cooperation between Comet and ISB began in 2001 when both companies were smaller but very promising businesses. At the time, Comet was starting to look with interest at the increasing quality of imported products compared to the primary brands that until then had been considered irreplaceable.
To successfully complete this passage, leading obviously to huge economic benefits, the skill and availability of ISB engineers and sales staff were fundamental. Since then the cooperation has been continuous.
What are the benefits of your cooperation with ISB?
Certainly the physical vicinity of the two companies (the plants are just a few miles from each other), this aspect is a huge benefit in terms of the guaranteed quality and speed of service. We are also able to develop effective supply practices with a view to Lean Production, such as the Electronic KanBan management, with supplies in specific packagings. Furthermore, ISB’s new investments have greatly increased these possibilities. Equally important is the technical structure, which with its sophisticated equipment and the training and skills of its staff, constantly provide know-how for the development of
new applications.
What are your plans for the future?
Today Comet is the leader of an International group, a network of specialised companies working across the country. The continuous acquisition of key businesses was a determined and courageous choice, aiming to enhance the experience gained throughout our history, expanding into complementary sectors and allowing us to become one of the world’s most complete businesses in terms of high pressure water technology. But we can’t sit on our laurels. Every day, we continue to invest in quality, R&D, product ranges, after-sales services, logistics, resources and digitisation, aiming to improve the “Customer Experience”, facilitating and simplifying the relationship between the company and its customers.
