The ISB plants are specialized in the manufacture
of radial ball bearings, tapered roller bearings, self-aligning
roller bearings and needle bearings.

The plant is equipped with cutting-edge machinery and fully automated production lines that guarantee reliable, efficient production, as well as the greatest cost efficiency and precision with guaranteed and consistent quality.

In addition to being ISO 9001 certified, the ISB production site has also been awarded the IATF 16949:2016 certification for its Automotive quality management system.

The selection of raw materials is a fundamental step in the production of high-quality bearings. The development and choice of high purity steels is crucial in order to achieve greater durability than required by the ISO standards referred to.
All ISB bearings are manufactured with 100 Cr6 grade steel, which ensures high levels in terms of:

  • Hardness
  • Wear resistance
  • Resistance to fatigue
  • Dimensional stability
  • Mechanical strength
  • Compressive strength

This type of steel combined with a heat treatment, is an excellent solution for any application.

Heat treatment is a crucial step in the process that gives our bearings their characteristics of outstanding stability and hardness.

At its manufacturing sites, ISB has production lines for the automatic heat treatment in a controlled atmosphere, as well as cutting-edge furnaces that give the products it supplies a correct martensitic structure, which in turn means they maintain their outstanding mechanical properties even when used in extreme conditions.

Thanks to our state-of-the-art machinery, at the ISB production plants we carry out the following processes:

  • Rolling
  • Raceways grinding
  • Super-finishing

The latest operation before the washing is the demagnetisation of components to make the material neutral to magnetic attraction. This process is carried out in an optimal way, generating a high sliding feature of the material and low noise level. The demagnetisation of the components is critical for the life of the bearing.

The next stage, that is the assembly of the bearings, is also carried out via automatic lines without direct intervention of the operator. Only the cages and the balls are produced out of the plant. ISB products are then prepared for the final testing and compliance stage, which certifies their high quality standards.

Line Anderometer tests are performed on all assembled bearings to check that all the previous steps have been carried out correctly. In addition, in the plant, located in Italy, with the use of the Anderometer and of important instruments, ISB engineers analyse vibration and noise values of each component of the bearing.

Thanks to the traceability code on the bearing and the barcode on the box, it is possible to trace:

  • where the material has come from and the date of production;
  • the controls associated with that particular batch;
  • the correct place in the warehouse;
  • the customers to whom the material has been shipped.
